I’ve been asked to write about money in these past countries. Basically how far does a dollar stretch? At first I wasn’t sure how to answer this-dollars are not equal in each country-but then a suggestion was made that solved this problem for me. FOOD! Food is universal so I will compare dinning out in a few of the countries I’ve been to. (I’m very intrguied by this so I’ll updated it from time to time-check back again)
USA: A normal dinner out would include salad for 2, main course for 2, desert (usually 1 shared) and 1-3 alcohol drinks (not always, but sometimes) Price: $100 (with tip) Tobago: Here we bought dinner for our guides so this is 5 people. Steamed veggies, fresh bbq lion fish, stuffed bell pepper, and 7 beers. Price: $50 (with tip) Aruba: For 2 people Burgers (NOT hamburger meat), fries, 2 beers Price: $10 Barbados: For 2 people We were starving here and order a lot of appitizers. Can’t remember which ones. 2 drinks Price: $20 Sao Tome: For 2 people (Check out the picture for this one) Veggies, rice, bread, potatos, 3 water bottles, 1 beer, french fries, a ton of fish (again check the picture!) Price: $20
